Pondicherry has four parts
- Pondicherry, which is 160 km South of Chennai
- Karaikkal, a small town south of Pondicherry (in Tamil Nadu)
- Yanam, again a small town near Vizag in Andhra Pradesh
- Mahe, a tiny town in north Kerala between Cannanore and Calicut
